Evidence of Brilliance

Okay, last post for the night. (I missed a couple of days! I had to catch up!) I just mentioned how brilliant my children are (which I really, honestly do attribute largely to my husband's side of the family. Go Dooleys!!!). And here is the evidence: Jonathan drew his first intentional picture the other day. Now, I don't want to hear any comments from anyone about what their kid can already draw and they are only 6 months old or something! My child is flippin' special and I won't hear otherwise! So he brought this to me the other day, and it was so clearly a penguin. I was so happy and he was like, wait, it needs the eyes, Mama. And he took it back and drew the two little circles for the eyes. Can you see the beak? Brilliant!

And on the very next morning (when we were SO late to school!) he woke up before Anna and I, and stayed in his room building Legos. I woke up at 8:30 (we have to be on Wickham, headed north by 8:45) and was totally distressed! I ran to his room, and there he was, sitting on the floor, building Legos. Hello, Mama, he said. I was just working on my Legos while you and Anna kept sleeping. And he had built, from the ground up, an awesome speedboat/ submarine with a fully operational gun! Just by looking at the picture on the front of the Lego box! Is anyone else shocked and awed??? I certainly am! Brilliant!
