Anna's Room

I was talking to Anna the other night about redecorating her room. It was our guest room/office before she was born, and we didn't really have her start sleeping in there until she was 2. We are going to be taking the carpet out and laying down laminate in a few weekends, and replacing the baseboards. And, so, I figure... why not just get new curtains, bedding, and paint the walls, too? Her room is in desparate need of a major cleaning out and re-organizing. I just want to start all over and really re-do it. I expect this will involve a trip to IKEA. OK, I really DEMAND that it involve a trip to IKEA. She's never really had her room decorated. We just left it the same neutral color it was before she was born, and put up some pink gingham curtains.
Anyways, I am starting to really think about this, so I ask Anna what color she might like.
This is what she wants:
Pink walls, and purple walls.
You mean, you want, one wall pink and one wall purple?
No. I just want it all mixed up together so it will be REALLY colorful.
Hmmm... Maybe I could paint the walls pink and then lightly sponge purple over them...
AND they have to be all 'parkly!
What?
I want super sparkly walls, with glitter ALL over them. And REALLY big wall stickers, of flowers and butterflies, but I want those to be 'parkly too!
Anna, honey, I don't think that they make glitter paint for walls.
(Rolling her eyes and sighing heavily) NO, Mama. We would get the paint at Lowe's and then we would go to the arts and crafts store and buy a whole lot of glitter and then we could just throw it all over the walls.
I don't really know what to say to that. Maybe I will send her to Nona's for a day or two and she can come back and surprise! New room!
Oh! And I forgot. Can we just paint my new floor bright yellow? AND purple AND pink? Why does it have to just be all wood-y? That's boring.

Note to self: Do not consult with 4 year old Anna about decorating.
