Everywhere we looked, we saw baby animals. SO CUTE! Also, everything was starting to blossom. Weeping cherries and pear trees... And tulips and daffodils. We just don't have that kind of pretty here in Florida. The weather was perfect every day. The kids had the best time because they were able to be outside so much. We came right at the beginning of spring and it was such a nice time to visit.
The kids really enjoyed the art room at the Exploratorium in Lexington. They each created a quilt square for a collaborative quilt project. Then Jonathan and I worked with pastels. By the time he was finished, he looked like he was covered in black soot.
Anna and Jonathan exploring the flight simulator. I love it when they work together on something... They fought quite a bit while we were on our trip. We rented a large SUV and they each had their own row of seats. Somehow, they kept getting into the "He's touching me" fight. When we got back home into our usual car, where they are forced to sit quite close to each other, they stopped fighting and went back to normal. Puzzling!

Jonathan lucked out. The visiting exhibit just happened to be all about bugs. Entomology departments from the University of Kentucky and various other places were there teaching about bugs and mosquitoes. I went to each station with Jonathan and he listened intently to their demonstrations. But the coolest part, by far, was getting to pet the Madagascar hissing cockroaches, pictured above.
Anna and Bubba on a big fake horse. We went to the Exploratorium in Lexington. The kids had so much fun.
At the airport waiting to board the plane. Anna did not want her picture taken, so she closed her eyes and said, "I'm annoying you!" She uses the words annoying and ignoring interchangeably.
We stayed in Orlando the night before we flew out to Kentucky. The kids got room service hot dogs and french fries. Apparently, fanciness comes naturally to one of my children, and not so much to the other.

Haha! Well, I guess it is pretty annoying when she's ignoring you. ;) Looks like a lot of fun! And I know what you mean about the springtime... it is beautiful up here, too.
